What data do you publish?

A 50-state PEO regulatory dataset, downloadable as one CSV with every cell linked to a primary source or explicitly empty. Provider pricing data is collected next; an annual Pricing Transparency Index will follow once the record clears the data gate.

What license applies to the datasets?

The state regulatory dataset is published under CC BY 4.0 — free to use, remix and cite with attribution. The same license policy will apply to any dataset we publish.

How do I read the research queues?

Every unpublished record carries a "research queue": the specific primary sources an analyst needs to pull to publish it. That queue doubles as our work order and as your audit trail.

What is in the file

PEO registration or licensing requirement, and the regulating agency
Bond or security requirement and renewal cycle
SUI taxable wage base and new-employer rate
State workers' compensation fund status and paid family/medical leave mandate
State minimum wage and PEO-specific SUI reporting basis

The same facts appear on the state law pages, each tied to its source. The CSV is the same data in one file, with a sources column that links every populated cell to the statute, agency page or filing it came from.

Why some cells are empty

An empty cell is not a “no” — it is an invitation to check the primary source. We do not estimate, extrapolate, or copy from vendor marketing. Cells get filled as their sources clear the verification gate, and each record carries its own verification date in the CSV.

The dataset is licensed CC BY 4.0: free to use, remix and republish with attribution and a link back. Keep the source links attached to the facts you reuse, the same way we publish them.

What is next

The state record is one of two datasets in the research program. Next is provider pricing — quoted rates, rate sheets and published fee schedules, each with a source and a date — which gates the annual PEO Pricing Transparency Index. The index will not go live until that record clears: an index built on estimates is the industry’s usual page with our name on it.

Can I use this data on my own site?

Yes, under CC BY 4.0 — attribution to Peolet with a link to the dataset page, keeping the source links attached. The CSV gives you each source URL for free.

Why is the pricing index not published yet?

An index needs verified provider pricing on file with sources and dates. No provider record holds one yet, and an index built on estimates would repeat the industry’s failure mode.

How often is the dataset refreshed?

Each record carries its own verification date. SUI wage bases and rates change annually; state records are re-verified as budgets and statutes change.
