What is Alaska's unemployment insurance (SUI) taxable wage base?
Alaska's SUI taxable wage base is $54,200 for 2026 (75% of the average annual wage, rounded to the nearest $100). The new-employer rate is 1.5% total.
Is workers' compensation mandatory in Alaska?
Yes. Alaska requires workers' compensation coverage for most employers. There is no state fund; coverage is obtained through the voluntary or involuntary (assigned risk pool) commercial market or by self-insurance.
What is the minimum wage in Alaska?
Alaska's minimum wage is $14.00 per hour effective July 1, 2026, which is above the federal minimum wage.
Does Alaska require paid family leave?
